Tucson is Arizona's most interesting craft beer city. The Old Pueblo's independent spirit, university energy, and proximity to the Mexican border all feed a brewing culture that prizes creativity and local identity. Barrio Brewing helped pioneer the Arizona craft scene in 1991, and a new generation of producers — 1912 Brewing, Dragoon Brewing, and others — are pushing the Sonoran Desert's brewing potential into exciting new territory.
